“The Curse of the Necklace” Offers Stunning Photography and 360-Degree Views of Famous Italian Landmarks and Historical Sites as a Mystery Unfolds

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Big Fish Games™ (www.bigfishgames.com), a leading developer, publisher, and distributor of casual, family-friendly games, today announced the launch of Travelogue 360: Rome - The Curse of the Necklace, the second in a series of new adventure games that takes players to exciting landmarks and locales to find hidden items. Travelogue 360 is the first casual game series where players search for hidden objects within an immersive 360-degree setting, which places the player at the center of the experience. This unique feature is a patent-pending mechanic that uses photography of historical buildings and landmarks to create an authentic experience for virtual visitors.

Travelogue 360: Romeprovides a challenging and fun 360-degree environment for players,” stated Paul Thelen, CEO, Big Fish Games. “The visual landscapes are created with high-resolution digital photos in a spherical pattern making it possible for players to look around in a free-form manner and providing the illusion of actually being in Rome. Not only will they be able to explore Rome on their own, but they’ll also use this amazing feature to solve a mystery within the game.”

Travelogue 360: Rome – The Curse of the Necklace story is set in Rome during the nineteenth century and revolves around a noble Roman family whose destiny is drastically changed by the gift of a diamond necklace. The remarkable necklace possesses mysterious powers leading to plotting, intrigue and tragedy. Players are swept away to famous Rome destinations such as the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Square and an Etruscan village to search for clues. Highlights of the story are shown to the player in the form of letters, cards and pictures as the narrative progresses. Objects are cleverly hidden throughout each scene and newly added levels of complexity are provided to challenge even the most experienced hidden object fan.

Travelogue 360: Rome offers a variety of mini games between levels, which include “Scopa,” a traditional Italian card game, Word Search, an updated Pack-Your-Suitcase game, Jigsaw Puzzles and Spot the Difference games using beautiful photographs from Rome. The brand new Travelogue book – the player’s personal travel journal – stores additional story clues, stamps from each location and links to re-visit scenes and re-play mini games. Upon completion of the game, players are provided with the full text of the story.

Hello Rome, Arrivederci Boredom!

“The artists and developers at Big Fish Studios have dedicated themselves to capturing the spirit and life of Rome throughout the ages,” said Patrick Wylie, vice president of Big Fish Studios. “In Travelogue 360: Rome , players will virtually experience the city like never before and discover new surprises as they search for items hidden in the stunning photographs of real locations.”

Based on play-testing customer feedback, new ways to navigate around the 360-degree scenes with easy-to-click arrow buttons were added to the game. The text size was increased for ease of reading, and tips, a new tutorial and a help section have also been added to Travelogue 360: Rome. Some very clever but simple ways to help players who want assistance in finding that one last tricky object were added in the form of new hints. Game players can now also re-visit scenes and re-play mini games at any time.

Travelogue 360: Rome is the second game to launch in the Big Fish Games Travelogue 360 series. It follows Travelogue 360: Paris, winner of the Zeebys Award for Best Technology of 2006 awarded by the Casual Games Association for excellence in game design.
